Description:

This unique Medicine Buddha is crafted from solid, carved pieces of Himalayan crystal set in a body sculpted from copper that is then gold-plated. Buddha’s robes are hand-etched. The custom stand, Prabha (halo), and Holy Blessing Umbrella are also gilt copper inset with lapis lazuli, coral, and turquoise.

The Medicine Buddha is also known as the Healing Buddha, with a Prabha (halo) of healing energy radiating from his head and body. As the Medicine Buddha’s vow was to help heal all the sick and the injured, he is often called upon to help eliminate sickness. Portrayed with a jar of medicine (carved from crystal) in his left hand, the Medicine Buddha’s right hand is resting on his knee in the mudra of blessings, with a stem of a healing plant in between his thumb and forefinger. Topping this exquisite sculpture is a Holy Blessing Umbrella hung with Bodhi tree leaves with insets of lapis lazuli.
