Vajradhara (the Vajra Holder or Enlightened One) is thought to be the supreme essence of all male Buddhas (Ruler of the Vajra Beings). It is the tantric form Shakyamuni which is called Vajradhara. He is the expression of Buddhahood itself and is the combined essence of all the buddhas of the ten directions and three periods of time gathered as one. Vajradhara represents the essence of the historical Buddha’s realization of enlightenment. Achieving the ‘state of Vajradhara’ is synonymous with complete realization.
